1. THE GREAT HUMAN RACE: SAT., MAR. 29, 9:30 AM, DURHAM BULLS ATHLETIC PARK

The Great Human Race is a 5k competitive walk/run and 5k non-competitive walk organized by the Volunteer Center of Durham to benefit Triangle-area nonprofits. Join Team Habitat, collect donations, and show your support for our community!

Habitat received a 1-to-1 match up to $5,000 from an anonymous foundation. Help us meet this challenge!

- Print the attached Great Human Race pledge form and collect cash/checks made out to ‘The Great Human Race’

2. HABITAT HALLOWEEN 100 BIKE RIDE TASK FORCE: THURS., MAR. 27, 6 PM

Habitat needs your help as we gear up for our 5^th annual benefit bike ride. Cyclists and cyclist supporters lend your expertise to route planning, event publicity, rest stop coordination, sponsors, fundraising… Join us Thurs., Mar. 27 at 6 p.m. as we make plans to ensure this year’s event on Sat., Nov. 1 is super spooktacular!

3. CARRBORO CLASSIC ENDURANCE SPORTS FESTIVAL: SUN., APR. 6, CARRBORO

Twenty volunteers are needed Sun., Apr. 6 early morning-noon to help with Carrboro Classic event-day logistics including registration, parking, and directing runners and cyclists on the course. Visit www.endurancemag.com/carrboro_classic to learn more about this event which includes a long course duathlon, super sprint duathlon, and the Wild West 8k. The Carrboro Classic benefits Habitat of Durham and the Swim for Smiles Campaign.

4. FISH FRY: FRI., APR. 4, 11 AM - 6 PM

Dayspring Fellowship Baptist Church located at 922 Ninth St., is hosting a Fish Fry Fri., Apr. 4 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Plates are $6 and proceeds benefit Habitat of Durham and the Durham Rescue Mission.

5. HABITAT HAND-ME-UP STORE SIDEWALK RUG SALE: SAT., MAR. 29, 10 AM - 2 PM

Visit the Habitat Hand-Me-Up Store located at 3710 Shannon Rd. (next door to the Post Office) on Sat., Mar. 29 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for a Sidewalk Rug Sale. Your purchases help build Habitat homes!

6. BUILD A HABITAT HOME

With two Habitat homes starting March 15 and two more in April, we need your help! Come build Wednesdays-Saturday each week. Shifts are 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4:30 p.m.
