Youth United Kick-Off Meeting: Thurs., Sept. 11, 6 p.m.
Youth United is a
nationwide Habitat initiative that mobilizes youth, ages 5 to 25, to fund and
build a house with Habitat. Youth from
Durham schools and youth organizations have successfully funded and built two
homes. This year they’ll do it again and
they need your help. Youth and adult
supporters interested in learning more are invited to this year’s Youth United
kick-off meeting Thurs., Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at Hope Crossing. To RSVP or learn more contact Roxanne,

2. Building Materials Warehouse Sale: Sat.,
Sept. 13, 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
The Habitat
Hand-Me-Up Store is having their third building materials warehouse sale Sat.,
Sept. 13 at 1400 East Geer St. (˝ mile east of Cheek Rd. intersection). Support Habitat by purchasing gently used
(and some new) merchandise including laminate flooring, windows, doors, sinks,
commodes, cabinets, rugs, nails, and so much more. Save the date for future warehouse sales on
Oct. 11 and Nov. 8. Please note that the

3. Fundraising Fish Fry: Fri., Oct. 3, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Dayspring
Fellowship Baptist Church, located at 922 Ninth St., is hosting a Fish Fry
Fri., Oct. 3 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Plates
are $6 and proceeds benefit Habitat of Durham and the Durham Rescue
Mission. Durham deliveries are available
for 6+ plates.

4. Habitat Halloween Bike Ride: Sat., Nov. 1, 9
a.m.
Sign up today to
ride in the spooktacular fifth-annual Habitat
Halloween bike ride. Experience
scenic views of Durham County as you ride 31, 62, or 100 miles. All routes are fully supported and start and
finish at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in downtown Durham. Gear up for a ghoulish good time and compete
for best costume. To
